The Rose Show is open to all rose growers in Sonoma County. You do not need to be one of our Rose Society or ARS members to participate.

The theme this year is  'La Vie en Rose' with two main categories to enter under: Horticultural and Rose Arrangements, with multiple sub-categories under each main category.

2025 Show Guide and Entry Rules available in mid-April 2025.

If you're a rose enthusiast, you won't want to miss our Annual Rose and Rose Arrangement Show. Now in its 58th season, this fun and educational event is your opportunity to show off your green thumb with roses–from blooms and stemmed roses to eye-catching arrangements. There are several categories (from novice to expert) to enter, and no previous show experience is required...just your love of roses/gardening!

We're looking for volunteers to help throughout the day with exhibitor entries, lunch service, and set up & breakdown of the event.

Tips for entering rose shows if you're  a first-time/novice entrant:

  • Arrive to entrant period early and go to the back patio to see how most exhibitors are preparing their roses for show; watch how they place the bloom or stem in the vase/vessel or create their arrangement to display the best part of the rose.

  • Refrain from asking fellow exhibitors questions during this time as most will be very busy with getting their entry set up. Instead, take mental/written notes and then ask questions after they are done so you can prepare your entry.

  • Bring your rose(s) with its name and variety (hybrid tea, floribunda, etc) so you can provide the judges with as much information as possible about your rose on the exhibit's informational card.

  • Read the rule book carefully so that you are exhibiting in the correct category. You may be disqualified if you enter an incorrect variety, shape, or size in a given category.

  • Volunteer to clerk for a show (no previous experience required) in order to learn how rose shows are set up and what the judges are looking for and how the judging process works.
